MTL Engineering has the expertise in materials selection, failure analysis, metallurgical and corrosion testing, and consultation.  The laboratory is equipped and staffed to provide materials testing such as routine hardness measurements, microstructural examination, optical microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy.  The laboratory also has capabilities to provide products testing and evaluation such as salt spray testing, autoclaves for corrosion testing, environmental testing, and inhibitors testing.    Our large warehouse can accommodate large field failures, equipment failures, downhole tubulars, etc. 

Our staff is headed by Salah E. Mahmoud, Ph.D, P.E., principal and chief engineer for MTL Engineering, Inc. He received his degrees from Ohio State University and University of Wisconsin. He worked for Rockwell International and Exxon before forming MTL Engineering in 1992. He is a life member and a Fellow of the American Society for Metals.
